Brock Lesnar UFC 200 Promo, Lesnar Will Need To Be Cleared After Fight For SummerSlam, UFC On Lesnar
- Above is the UFC 200 promo that aired during UFC 199 this past weekend that confirmed Brock Lesnar's UFC return. Lesnar appears in the closing seconds of the promo. As noted, Lesnar (5-3) revealed this morning that he will be facing Mark Hunt (12-10-1) at the event. Hunt's last fight was a first round knockout over Lesnar's former foe, Frank Mir, at UFC Fight Night last March in Brisbane, Australia.
- As noted, WWE and Lesnar have both stated that Lesnar will be a part of this year's WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view, which takes place at the Barclays Center on August 21st in Brooklyn, New York. It appears as if it will depend on how the fight goes. The state of New York oversees pro wrestling and Laz Benitez of the New York State Athletic Commission issued this statement to The LAW stating that Lesnar will have to be cleared for SummerSlam following his UFC 200 fight against Hunt:
Potential participation by Mr. Lesnar in an August WWE event would depend on his medical fitness and physical condition at the time of the professional wrestling show. No person is allowed to participate in a professional wrestling exhibition in New York State until he or she is cleared as medically fit to do so by a New York State licensed physician.
- UFC posted the UFC Minute segment below looking at Lesnar vs. Hunt:
