More Details And Exclusive Info On Brock Lesnar's UFC Return, WWE Involvement, Opponent, More

Many rumors are circulating following the announcement that Brock Lesnar would return to the UFC for a one-off appearance just under two months ahead of Summerslam. Now we have a little more information on the deal.

We're being told that the UFC will promote WWE's Summerslam show during UFC 202, which takes place the night before Summerslam. UFC 202 is headlined with a major re-match between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz. This likely isn't the only reason that WWE signed off on the fight, but it's one of them.

Brock Lesnar has always had the option of participating in UFC fights in his WWE contract. This option was nearly exercised in 2012, as the UFC was hoping to put together a huge bout at AT&T Stadium in Dallas against Fedor Emelianenko. Fedor pulled out of negotiations after his father passed away and he temporarily retired.

Josh Barnett, Shane Carwin, Todd Duffee, and even WWE United States Champion Rusev have all offered to step up and fight Brock Lesnar in the event that opponents are still being considered. The rumor that top-10 ranked Mark Hunt is in the running is due to an interview with The Daily Telegraph where Hunt said that UFC President Dana White told him to "stay ready" for UFC 200.
