Photo Of First-Ever Chinese Developmental Talent, John Cena Speaks Mandarin At Presser (Video), More

As noted, WWE today announced an exclusive multi-year content distribution agreement with PPTV in China, the return of a WWE live event to Shanghai this September, and Bin Wang as the first-ever Chinese talent signed to a developmental contract.

The announcement was made today at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai by WWE Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer Michelle D. Wilson, WWE Vice President & General Manager of Greater China Jay Li, Triple H and John Cena, as well as executives from PPTV Sports. You can see video above of Cena speaking at the press event in Mandarin.

We noted that earlier this week that Triple H was in China scouting talent. WWE has their eye on the country, and recently stated that they plan to make the network available in China this year. They announced the hiring of Jay Li this past April to help the company expand in China.

"China is strategically important for WWE and we are confident that Jay will help successfully develop our brand and business in the market," said WWE President of International Gerrit Meier, after Li's hiring. "We remain committed to expanding WWE internationally, and our presence in China is critical to the company's future growth."
