"Precious" Paul Ellering Comments On His WWE NXT Return, His Daughter's NXT Tryout, More
WWE Hall of Famer "Precious" Paul Ellering made a shocking return at last week's NXT TakeOver: The End, as he led the new duo of the Authors of Pain while they attacked former Tag Team Champions American Alpha. Now, he's speaking out for the first time since his return.
Ellering spoke to legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter on 1Wrestling.com about his surprise return to the WWE after 18 years, noting that he was scouting talent.
"It's a work in progress. I've been watching NXT and there's tremendous talent down there. I'm amazed by the energy, and I'm just down there scouting around," Ellering told Apter.
"Precious" Paul's daughter Rachael Ellering also made an appearance on NXT TV recently, losing to Alexa Bliss. According to Paul, becoming a wrestler wasn't always the plan for his daughter, but his accomplishments helped sway her.
"Rachael went to the WWE tryout camp. After she went to the Hall of Fame the year we were inducted she changed her major, she was pre-med. She changed it to communications and graduated from a very good college, top of her class. She became a power lifter and placed third in the world. She's been working at this for like four years. (WWE) sent her to Canada to train up there with Lance Storm. She's really good at what she does," he said.
