WWE Smackdown Recap (6/2): AJ Styles Vs. Kofi Kingston, Rusev Meets An Old Foe, Zayn & Ambrose, More

- New Day come out and are interrupted by the Club. New Day make fun of them and ask what kind of Club it is and if there are dues. The Club say they're coming to collect their dues, but New Day says there's 3 of them and 2 of the Club. Styles comes out and says the WWE belongs to the Club. Styles says Kofi is still joking after ten years in the WWE because he's a joke. Kofi runs down his accolades and laughs that it took Styles over ten years just to make it here. AJ challenges Kofi to a match, which is accepted.

Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte (w/ Dana Brooke)

Becky starts off with a series of armdrags before Charlotte turns the tides. Becky quickly regains control, but Dana Brooke pulls her off of the apron as we head to a commercial break. As we return, we see Lynch hit some kicks and an Exploder suplex for a two count. After a few chops from Charlotte, Becky goes for an armbar and gets powerbombed. Becky applies Disarmor, but Dana Brooke gets involved, causing a DQ.

Winner: Becky Lynch via DQ

Natalya comes to make the save after the match.

- Dean Ambrose and Sami Zayn are backstage and Zayn says they'll work fine even though Ambrose hates Canadians. Ambrose complains about a border patrol guy, and Zayn says Ambrose shouldn't have tried to bring in the nunchucks. Owens and Del Rio show up and Owens tells Ambrose that Zayn is just manipulating him. Del Rio calls Zayn a paperboy.

Dudley Boyz vs. Golden Truth

Truth has a new rap, full with karaoke words, with Goldust's bouncing head leading the words. Truth and Goldust double team Bubba Ray and do a dab legdrop as Breezango watch on from ringside. D-Von distracts Truth, allowing Bubba Ray to attack and tag in and out with his partner as they beat Truth down in the corner. Truth gets a big kick in and tags out to Goldust, who uses his signature uppercut and spinebuster on Bubba Ray. Breeze hops on the apron taking selfies, and Truth knocks him off. Goldust is run into Truth and pinned.

Winners: Dudley Boyz via pinfall

Breezangno make a lot of incorrect sports references and call themselves Gorgelicious. They're pretty good together.

- Baron Corbin is outside the arena and says WWE fans don't deserve to see him after cheering Ziggler for being a dirty fighter. He says the next time he's in an arena, it will be to end Ziggler.

Dean Ambrose & Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens & Alberto Del Rio

Owens attacks Zayn from behind, but walks into a tilt-a-whirl headscissors. Zayn and Ambrose isolate ADR and go to work on him until Owens causes a distraction, allowing Del Rio to get a backstabber on Zayn. Zayn flips backwards into a tag to Ambrose, who scores on a suicide dive attempt to Del Rio, but gets tossed into the apron and barricade by Owens.

We return from the break to see Del Rio hitting a punch from the top rope on Ambrose before he and Owens beat him up outside the ring. Zayn does his dive over the top onto both opponents, but Ambrose still can't make a tag. Ambrose reverses an ADR superkick, but Zayn is knocked to the floor. Del Rio accidentally enziguris Owens, and Zayn clocks ADR with the Helluva Kick for the win.

Winners: Sami Zayn & Dean Ambrose via pinfall (Helluva Kick)

Kevin Owens gets on the headset and screams about his partners costing him matches. He grabs a ladder from under the ring. Cesaro comes out in his suit and hits a springboard European uppercut. He climbs the ladder and grabs the briefcase to pose with it.

Rusev (w/ Lana) vs. Jack Swagger

Rusev attacks Swagger from behind and runs him into the stairs. Swagger still wants to fight and catches a Rusev kick with Patriot Lock, but Rusev rolls out of the ring. Swagger clotheslines Rusev, but his shoulder is hurt. Rusev kicks Swagger in the shoulder and applies a modified chinlock. Swagger fights back with a side slam and a clothesline, but it sent face first into the steel stairs. Swagger still manages to briefly apply a Patriot Lock, but is kicked and placed in the Accolade. He has to submit.

Winner: Rusev via submission (Accolade)

Rusev won't release the hold, and Titus O'Neil makes the save.

- Bob Backlund yells at Darren Young for running, and tells him to walk briskly to the next town.

AJ Styles (w/ The Club) vs. Kofi Kingston (w/ New Day)

Styles is quickly huracanrana'd before a one man Unicorn Stampede. The Club and New Day get in the ring and have a standoff before the final commercial. We come back to see Kingston hit a flying back elbow and a drop toe hold. The Club and New Day are into it again, causing Kofi to get distracted and sent into the ring post. Styles takes advantage with a big backbreaker, but Kofi fights back. Styles counters a Trouble in Paradise with an Ushigoroshi. The two end up on the top ropes, but Xavier plays the trombone and distracts Styles. SOS hits for Kofi, but all hell breaks loose at ringside. Kofi takes out Gallows at ringside, but walks into a Pele and Styles Clash. Styles wins a good match.

Winner: AJ Styles via pinfall (Styles Clash)
