Original WWE SummerSlam Match Changed, Matt Morgan On What WWE Should Do With Roman Reigns, More

- As seen on RAW last night, Seth Rollins will face Finn Balor for the newly-created WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam next month. While the plan had been for WWE to create a new World title, the original plan for SummerSlam have changed. The original plan, first reported by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, was for Rollins to face Roman Reigns for one of the World titles. Reigns' 30 day suspension for his first violation of the WWE Wellness Policy clearly changed those plans.

Former WWE and TNA star Matt Morgan joined myself and Glenn Rubenstein on the Wrestling Inc. Podcast last night to review last night's RAW and the changes made for the show. When asked what WWE should do with Reigns now, Morgan said that they should put him on the "Cena-ish second tier for now."

"I think you really let him be a heel finally," Morgan added. "You can give him this whole new year's worth of programs – or six months to eight months worth of programs – and let him be this heel that is dying to come out of him, you can see it. He wants to snap on these people, and I don't blame him. I would have snapped on them after the third week of them booing me when I'm supposed to be being a babyface! Seriously, I would have been horrible with that, so God bless him for having the patience and the professionalism to stay in character for the most part.

"Let him be a heel," Morgan continued. "Give him this whole assignment to work on, like they did with The Rock. Let him try this out, it seems natural. It seems like a natural fit, the entire universe is booing him! OK, give them a reason to boo. And for people saying that's going to turn him face, no it won't, because they're booing him for very different reasons."

You can watch Morgan's comments on Reigns in the video above at the 55:50 mark. Morgan also discussed if Finn Balor should win the WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam, thoughts on the name of the belt, how competitive the two brands were during his time there and more so make sure to check out the whole episode. - CNET has an article here asking if the "Reigns experiment died at Battleground." It was noted that Reigns lost the fall at Sunday's pay-per-view and that while the Reigns experiment may be dead for now, it can always be picked up:

Wrestling fans by now also should know that the upper brass, particularly Vince McMahon, have a habit of changing their minds. That means the Roman Reigns experiment may be picked up again.
