Would Holly Holm Fight Cris Cyborg? Michael Bisping In "xXx" Trailer, UFC Removes Fighter From Card
- It has been a pretty good summer for UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping. "The Count" scored the title with a short-notice first round finish of Luke Rockhold, which came just as he was finishing up filming for the 2017 blockbuster film , 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage."
The first trailer for the movie, which will be released in 2017 and stars Vin Diesel as the lead character Xander Cage," was posted this week. In the trailer, Bisping can be found landing in an elevator before springing into action.
Bisping, who returns to action later this year inside the Octagon vs. Dan Henderson, plays the role of "Hawk" in the film.
- Former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm will headline Saturday's UFC on FOX 20 card from Chicago vs. Valentina Shevchenko. With the belt having switched hands to Amanda Nunes recently, could Holm possibly be fighting Cris "Cyborg" Justino in the future?
"It's always an option," Holm told MMAjunkie. "I really like Cyborg. I love to watch her fight. I love her as a person. She's awesome. I consider her a friend. And she's the same as myself, though, that the opportunity is there, we'd take the fight."
Holm is coming off a fifth round submission loss to Miesha Tate earlier this year that cost her the belt. Cyborg, meanwhile, made her Octagon debut earlier this year with a win in Brazil. It was rumored at one point that the two could have been matched up at that time.
"They had talked about the fight when she fought in Brazil," Holm said. "If the fight is right and the time is right, then great. I'm open to it. But we'll see."
- The UFC is not going to take the wait-and-see approach with newcomer Emil Weber Meek, removing the fighter from UFC Fight Night 93 after he admitted to a medical treatment that could be out of compliance with USADA testing. Meek was set to make his debut, but will now be placed in the testing program for four months with the USADA before making his first appearance inside the Octagon.

"As part of the athlete onboarding process, Emil Meek voluntarily disclosed medical treatment he received prior to signing with UFC that is potentially out of compliance with UFC's Anti-Doping Policy. As a result, Meek will not compete in his previously scheduled bout on September 3, 2016 in Hamburg, Germany in order to allow him time to consult with his physician and evaluate his medical treatment.
"Given Meek's medical treatment occurred before his signing with UFC, he is not subject to any potential anti-doping violations under the policy relating to that treatment. However, UFC is requiring Meek to be enrolled in USADA's registered testing pool for a period of four months before he is placed on a fight card in the future."
