Conor McGregor - Nate Diaz Water Bottle Melee Video, UFC Fighter Fails Test, UFC 202 Embedded
- Well, if you weren't interested in UFC 202 Saturday night, you might be now. Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz continued to sell their rivalry during a pre-fight press conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
First, McGregor showed up late to the event, which prompted UFC president Dana White to begin without him. After answering several questions, and following McGregor's arrival, Diaz decided enough was enough and stormed off. The two camps exchanged words and water bottles were tossed, as seen in the video above.
- Francisco Rivera, who has fought for the UFC over 10 times, was notified of a potential anti-doping violation by the USADA. Rivera (11-7) faces a possible two-year ban from the sport for the failed test, which came from an out-of-competition sample in late July.
"USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case," a statement by the UFC read. "It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full and fair review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward."
Rivera lost to Erik Koch this past July at UFC 201. He had been tested three times in all in 2016.
- In the fourth installment of UFC 202 Embedded, we see more from the pre-fight press conference incident. The fighters are preparing for their PR work ahead of Saturday's card, as well. The incident between Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz and the fight camps for both men was caught on film. Note, the episode below contains foul language.
