Daniel Bryan Says WWE Waited Too Long On Finn Balor, Says Nakamura And Samoa Joe Should Be Called Up
Michael Cole's latest sitdown interview is with Daniel Bryan, as seen in the video above. We will have more highlights shortly, but during the interview, Bryan made some interesting comments regarding Finn Balor's injury at WWE SummerSlam this past Sunday.
Bryan said that the most tragic part of the whole thing is that it happened as soon as Finn got to the main roster. One of the things that upsets him about the whole thing is that Balor should have been on the main roster a year and a half ago. He said that while it takes time to adjust to the WWE style, it wouldn't have taken someone like Balor more than six months to adjust. Bryan said that Finn is in the prime of his career, he just turned 35 years old the day of his RAW debut, and he should have been here a year and a half ago.
"I understand that NXT is a very important part of our programming, and a very important part of the Network, but he was a Superstar when we signed him. Some people have to adjust to the WWE style," Bryan said. "For a guy like Finn Balor, that takes no more than six months. He's in the prime of his career right now. He just turned 35 the day he debuted on Raw, right? He should have been here a year and a half ago."
Bryan added that Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura should be on the main roster, stating that they're in their primes and they should be on RAW and SmackDown. He said that the longer they wait, the more bumps and bruises they will be taking and the more susceptible they are to injury.
"Everybody knows that there's a finite amount of hits that you can take in your career," Bryan noted. "You don't know what that number is. The more times you take those hits down on NXT, the less hits you're going to be able to take when you're here."
We will have more highlights from the interview shortly.
