WWE Doctor On Finn Balor's Injury Being More Severe Than Normal, Update On Balor's Ring Return
As noted, Finn Balor underwent shoulder surgery on Wednesday evening after being forced to drop the WWE Universal Title on Monday's RAW, just 24 hours after winning it at SummerSlam. The injury came when Balor took a powerbomb into the barrier from Seth Rollins.
WWE's Dr. Jeffrey Dugas commented on Balor's operation and noted that the injury was more severe than normal. Dugas said:
"Finn's injury was pretty severe, more severe than normal. A really high energy injury, it did more damage than a standard shoulder dislocation where you simply tear the labrum. The prognosis is excellent, however. We were able to fix it all and put it back where it came from. I'm anticipating him getting back at full speed."
It's been expected that Balor would be out of action for 4-6 months but WWE did not include an updated timeframe in their latest report. There was some concern at RAW that he could be out of action for a few months longer.
For those who missed it, Balor tweeted these photos after surgery yesterday:
