Big UFC Title Fight Added To UFC 206, UFC 204 Embedded Episode
- Given the stage, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier took advantage, announcing his next title defense Wednesday on "UFC Tonight." Cormier will meet Anthony Johnson at UFC 206 this December.
The bout is a rematch of a meeting between the two from 2015, which "DC" won via submission to become champion. The UFC had stripped Jon Jones of the belt and placed Cormier and "Rumble" in the meeting to decide the new titleholder.
Along with Cormier-Johnson, Zach Makovsky-John Moraga, John Makdessi-Lando Vannata, Olivier Aubin-Mercier-Drew Dober, Rustam Khabilov-Jason Saggo and Valerie Letourneau-Poliana Potelho were all added.
Of note, the Cormier-Johnson rematch was not named as the main event for the card, leaving a void to possibly be filled by Georges St-Pierre if he decides to return to MMA.
- On the second episode of UFC 204: Embedded, we catch up with Dan Henderson back in California enjoying those closest to him. Also, middleweight champion Michael Bisping sets out on his journey home to England.
Bisping defends his title against Henderson this Saturday night from the Manchester Arena. In other action, Vitor Belfort takes on Gegard Mousasi.
