Paul Heyman Says Brock Lesnar Recommended Goldberg For WWE 2K17, Talks What To Expect From Lesnar

Paul Heyman appeared on last night's ESPN SportsCenter "Off The Top Rope" segment with Jonathan Coachman.

Coach calls Heyman the greatest talker in the business and says he's evolved. Coach asks where Heyman is at today. Heyman says he's approaching his prime and riding Brock Lesnar's coattails to the finish line, enjoying every minute of the ride. Heyman says first working with Lesnar was the opportunity of a lifetime. He calls Lesnar a once-ever athlete and really puts him over. Regarding how Lesnar has changed, Heyman says he's a more seasoned monster, a smarter monster, a wiser monster, a monster with a wife and two sons and a daughter. Heyman jokes that Lesnar owns half of Saskatchewan now because he keeps buying up other people's farms.

Heyman says we can thank him for Bill Goldberg being back. Heyman says he's manipulated the situation since day one. He says Lesnar does not like the fact that Goldberg will go down in history with a win over him. Heyman says Lesnar is the type who wants no one to have a one-up on him. Heyman says 2K Sports approached him last year and asked who should be the pre-order bonus for WWE 2K17. Heyman says he was with Lesnar that day and Lesnar suggested it be Goldberg so he could potentially come back to WWE like Lesnar, Sting and The Ultimate Warrior. Heyman says everyone has been played by he and Lesnar. Heyman says they manipulated the situation since day one because Lesnar wants to get his win back.

Coach asks what we can expect to see over the next month. Heyman says a very genuine, authentic, looking-to-settle-that-score Brock Lesnar, the same Lesnar we saw come back to UFC this summer. Heyman says the persona of The Beast will be toned down and we will see that Brock the human being is very similar to the character of The Beast and The Conqueror.

Coach and Heyman also discuss Vince McMahon, Heyman's marketing agency and more in the interview.
