Backstage News On Why WWE Hall Of Fame And NXT Takeover Are Switching Nights
As noted earlier, WrestleMania 33 tickets will go on sale this Friday, while the pre-sale starts on Wednesday. The event takes place on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Orlando Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL.
We mentioned that the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony has been moved to Friday night instead of the usual Saturday night. Since the event was moved to WrestleMania weekends in 2004, it had always taken place on a Saturday, the night before WrestleMania. NXT will now take the place of the Hall of Fame ceremony on the Saturday night before 'Mania.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer that the switch was done because NXT: Takeover will take place at the same arena as RAW the following Monday and SmackDown on Tuesday. Until now, the show had been held at a different building. This way, they can set up the arena for the Hall of Fame on Friday, then take it down and set it up for the arena setup for NXT on Saturday and leave it for RAW on Monday and SmackDown on Tuesday.
