Big UFC Title Fight Off, Preview UFC Fight Night 101 Event, More Injuries
- This Saturday night, middleweight contenders Robert Whittaker and Derek Brunson get the chance to shine in the main event of UFC Fight Night 101. The event takes place from Melbourne, Australia and airs live on FOX Sports 1.
Hear from veteran announcer Joe Rogan as he previews the contest. The bout was elevated from the co-main event role after an injury to Luke Rockhold scrapped a rematch between Rockhold and Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza.
- MMA Fighting is reporting that the planned UFC 206 main event between light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson has been scratched. The report, and subsequent Twitter conversation between "DC" and "Rumble" states an injury to Cormier is the reason for the postponement.
I wish nothing but the best for DC and I hope you have a full recovery champ...

- Along with news of the UFC 206 main event been scratched, several other upcoming fights have been hit with the injury bug for both the UFC and Bellator. The Bellator 167 event will now feature Darrion Caldwell and Joe Taimanglo after an injury forced Patricky "Pitbull" Freire to pull out of his planned fight with Derek Campos.
Alejandro Perez has been forced off The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale, leaving Rob Font without an opponent for the December event. UFC Fight Night 102 has lost Tatiana Suarez, as the former Ultimate Fighter winner was scheduled to meet Juliana Lima. And a bantamweight fight pitting Aljamain Sterling against Raphael Assuncao is off due to an injury by Sterling.
