Broken Matt Hardy On When His TNA Contract Runs Out, Giving Back, Young Bucks Being "Spot Monkeys"

Recently on The Ross Report, WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross was joined by TNA's Broken Matt Hardy for an in-character interview. Hardy discussed his current contract status, wanting to help elevate TNA talent, and The Young Bucks being "spot monkeys".

During the interview, Hardy shared that his contract runs out in February 2017. Hardy quipped that he might take a page out of UFC's Conor McGregor's book and demand an ownership stake in TNA during contract negotiations.

"When my mortal vessel first signed my contract, the way things work out, my contract ends at the end of February. So yes, there are many demands I want to make and one of them will be to take Impact Wrestling. I want to be the man in the saddle. I want to take them by the reigns. I want to take them to greatness, take it to the promised land they could truly go to."

Hardy stated that he would like to help elevate the likes of Eli Drake, EC3, and Eddie Edwards. Broken Matt claimed that his broken condition was the start of TNA's renaissance.

"I want to take my broken brilliance and I want to give it to these other people who could utilize it, these Eli Drakes, and this the third version of Carter, and to these other young tag teams, the champion Eddie Edwards. There are many, many men, across the board, that would be greatly benefited if they were positioned even better on the roster and given better opportunities, if they were given a chance to work more and make more money, and to do bigger and better things. We have to take Impact Wrestling and build its credibility back. We have to take it to the next level and my broken brilliance is the beginning of the renaissance."

On the subject of The Young Bucks, Hardy professed that they are cut from the same cloth as The Hardy Boyz, The Rockers, and The Rock 'n' Roll Express; however, Hardy went on to say that The Young Bucks are "spot monkeys" who he would like to help cure of their "addiction".

"Now, I think the Bucks of Youth are the team that is the young heartthrobs. Yes, yes. They are very talented young men, but they are spot monkeys. But I wish to cure them of their addiction like I have Brother Nero, yes." Hardy added, "and I would not like to delete the Bucks of Youth completely because I do see a lot of potential in them. Even though they are spot monkeys, I wouldn't mind to help them through their addictions because I think they are a lot more than people realize."
