Former ROH World Champion Is Done With ROH, UFC Legend Praises Kurt Angle (Video), Hardys Win Gold
- The crew behind the recent Nine Legends pro wrestling documentary posted the video above of UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture talking about Kurt Angle. Couture said that he was at the Olympics "at the edge of the mat" watching Angle win the finals to earn the gold medal.
"Seeing him transition to pro wrestling after that was kind of like, 'What?!'" Couture said. "I wrestled him in college as well, he was a heavyweight at Clarion when I was at Oklahoma State, so I knew him well and saw him come through. He was a remarkable athlete."
- As noted, The Hardys defeated The Young Bucks and The Supernaturals in a ladder match at this past weekend's "Fatal Destiny" event in Santiago de Chile, Chile. The match was actually for the promotion's tag team championships. At the same event, Lucha Underground star Ivelisse won the promotion's Women's Championship by defeating Santana Garrett.
- Michael Elgin announced on Twitter that he will no longer be working for ROH. He did say that he would work joint ROH / NJPW shows if asked, as seen below:
Outside of joint NJPW shows (if asked to be a part of course) I'll no longer be working for ROH.
