Interim Title Fight Set, UFC Heavyweight Main Event Off, Joe Lauzon's UFC Fight Night 103 Blog
- If you haven't caught one of Joe Lauzon's personal video blogs ahead of his fight, you are in luck. Lauzon, who meets Marcin Held Sunday night at UFC Fight Night 103, has released the first episode in the series.
Lauzon, known as the "Fight Night" bonus machine, meets Held in the co-main event on FOX Sports 1 from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix.
- Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson finally have a signed contract, as the two will meet in March at UFC 209 for the interim lightweight title. The promotion confirmed the bout for the event, serving as the co-main event.
UFC 209 takes place March 4 from Las Vegas and will feature the rematch between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson for the welterweight title. Last year, Woodley and Thompson fought to a majority draw.
Ferguson, a former winner of The Ultimate Fighter, has won nine consecutive bouts, while Nurmagomedov is unbeaten in his career. The winner is likely headed for a match with champion Conor McGregor later this year to unify the belts.
- Stefan Struve-Junior dos Santos is off, as Struve confirmed surgery is in his future. The two were scheduled for a rematch later this year at UFC Fight Night from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Dos Santos, a former UFC heavyweight champion, earned a win in the first meeting with Struve, who was making his Octagon debut at the time.
