AJ Styles On If Vince McMahon Told Him To Do 'Too Sweet' Hand Gesture With Finn Balor
AJ Styles and Finn Balor put on the best match of Sunday's TLC pay-per-view that will be a shoo-in candidate for "Match of the Year." After their match, the two of them exchanged the "Too Sweet" hand gesture in an iconic moment that delighted the WWE Universe. On monday, Styles took to Twitter to respond to someone who claimed Vince McMahon directed them to use the gesture.
Styles replaced Bray Wyatt against Balor after Wyatt was removed from TLC due to a viral infection. Luis Paez-Pumar, the sports editor at Remezcla, posted a photo of Styles and Balor and tweeted, "Vince McMahon really flew AJ Styles from Chile to Minneapolis at the last minute, just to throw a televised middle finger in the Young Bucks' face. Honestly, pettiness goals." Styles responded with a photo of his explanation.

"Just so you know Luis," Styles wrote, "Vince had nothing to do with the 2 sweet between [Finn] and I. In fact, I say it was two men showing the world that we haven't forgotten where we came from. Forever will we love our BC brothers."
For years, Styles vs. Balor has been a match that wrestling fans have clamored for, dating back to their careers in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Balor, then-known as Prince Devitt, became the leader of The Bullet Club and the faction began using the "Too Sweet" hand gesture. When Balor resigned from NJPW in 2014, Styles signed with the promotion and debuted as the new leader of The Bullet Club. Both their runs as leader were wildly successful in the eyes of the fans and the media and established The Bullet Club as the most popular faction in pro-wrestling.
After leaving NJPW, Balor signed with WWE and worked his way up to the main roster after an exciting run in NXT. Styles debuted with WWE in 2016 and skyrocketed to the top of the roster. Bullet Club alumni Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson soon followed, and they all had a brief interaction with each other last year at SummerSlam. Balor's injury that night sidelined him for several months, and Styles being drafted to the SmackDown brand put any plans on a matchup between them on hold.
Even though Styles and Balor had just two days to prepare for their match, they still put on an incredible performance. Sunday's match left fans begging for more and many are hoping it wouldn't be the last time they faced off in the ring.
