– Above you can watch a recording of Wednesday’s UFC 217 media conference call featuring fighters from two out of the three championship fights on the Nov. 4 card at Madison Square Garden. UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt will face off against former champion T.J. Dillashaw in the co-main event. Strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk will look to defend her title against Rose Namajunas.

TMZ reports that UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping is being sued for allegedly choking a man at a gym in Anaheim, Calif. in July. Antonio Georgakopoulos, 19, is accusing Bisping of assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress after Bisping allegedly verbally attacked him and then grabbed him by the throat after he accused Georgakopoulos of taking his weights during a workout.

Georgakopoulos claims that Bisping choked him so hard that he almost lost consciousness before another weight-lifter broke up the fight. Bisping subsequently challenged him to “take it outside.” Georgakopoulos claimed in his complaint that Bisping was arrested for assault and battery after the incident, but reports confirm that no arrest was made that day. The City Attorney’s Office in Anaheim determined there was not enough evidence to press criminal charges against Bisping, who cooperated with the investigation. In his complaint, Georgakopoulos stated that he’s seen a doctor due to injuries from the incident, and claimed he’s suffered from nightmares and anxiety as a result of the attack.

Bisping is expected to defend his title against Georges St. Pierre in the main event of UFC 217 next week. He has not released a statement on the matter and the UFC has not commented on it either.
