Alberto El Patron On Paige's Return To RAW, Having No More Drama, Personal Life Being Used For Promo

Impact Wrestling superstar Alberto El Patron participated in media conference call this morning. During the call, he discussed his ex-fiancee Paige's return to RAW.

Paige, who recently said that she was single again, made her comeback on RAW last week after being sidelined for more than a year with a neck injury. El Patron said he's happy to see her back with the WWE and still believes she has a lot of untapped potential.

"It's fantastic, it was just about time. I used to say this all the time, people forget that she had neck surgery, screws behind her neck," El Patron said. "That's the reason why she was out of the business and it takes time to recover from something like that and then she started working really hard for her big comeback, and now she's there. She's doing what she has been doing since the beginning of her career in WWE. She's killing it, she's doing a fantastic job. I said it before and I'll say it again, she has all the potential to be the most successful Diva of all time. We have to give her time."

El Patron made a return of his own to Impact Wrestling at the Bound For Glory pay-per-view earlier this month. He was suspended on July 12 due to a personal domestic violence issue with Paige. Although he was cleared in the dispute, he was subsequently stripped him of his GFW World Heavyweight Championship on August 14. He was asked about the company using his personal life in the promotion of the pay-per-view and he said it was a mutual decision to mix his real life with his storyline.

"Part of it was the storyline, part of it was completely real. Everybody knows about the suspension," he said. "The company and I talked about this and we decided it was the right thing to do at the moment because when the whole drama happened, we didn't have the right evidence to prove to the audience, the sponsors, the TV networks that I didn't do absolutely anything. So, in order to protect the company, the wrestlers in the company and all the people working for it, we decided to do that."

El Patron said it was his idea that he relinquish the title because he wants every wrestler in the company to be held to the same standard. He felt that top wrestlers were given special treatment in the WWE, and he didn't want that to be the case in Impact.

El Patron said he's feeling refreshed and refocused now that his entire life revolves around his family and his wrestling career.

"Personally, I'm back to where my life was before with zero drama, zero nothing. I've been saying this from the beginning, just look at my life before this past year, it was how it is right now, just about work and family," he said. "A family man, working all the time, no drama, no nothing. And now I'm back to where I was, and I'm gonna continue to do it. Working hard and making my family happy, and making the wrestling fans and my company Impact Wrestling happy until I decide to quit or leave the business one day."
