Charlotte Talks Not Participating In First-Ever Women's Royal Rumble

Charlotte shared her thoughts on the first-ever WWE Women's Royal Rumble match with Planeta Wrestling.

Announced by Stephanie McMahon on last Monday's Raw, the Royal Rumble follows Hell In A Cell and Money In The Bank in allowing the women's division to share in the marque matches. Charlotte was asked how she felt about not being able to enter the Rumble match since she can't enter it being the SmackDown Live Women's Champion.

"I'm very torn," Charlotte said. "My competitive nature wants to be a part of this first-ever Royal Rumble match, this historic moment. But I do know that I am a part of the evolution that got us to where we are today in making the first ever Royal Rumble match possible. But secondly, I am honored knowing that I'm still a part of this excitement in the field of the rumble match, knowing that who wins the Royal Rumble match will be facing me and going head to head at WrestleMania 34."

As of now, there is no confirmation on how many superstars will compete in the match. There are currently 23 female superstars listed on WWE's official website which includes Nikki Bella, who has been absent from WWE programming, Maria Kanellis, who in September announced that she was pregnant, and Brie Bella, who recently welcomed her first child, Birdie. Stephanie McMahon rounds out the list, and judging by Triple H's heavy involvement in Survivor Series, the Raw Commissioner could very well be a surprise entrant. Charlotte was also asked which NXT talents that she'd like to see as surprise entrants.

"I definitely am a huge fan of the Australians Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, I think they would be a great edition to the Royal Rumble match," Charlotte admitted. "I think Bianca Belair is an amazing, incredible athlete. I think her presence alone, when shed enter the royal rumble, would be amazing. Kairi Sane is another. And I know everyone's rumors saying Shayna Baszler is a possibility. I know she's one. I think all of those women would be great contestants. But again, anyone in NXT would do an incredible job and id like to see anyone step up and be part of the first ever women's Royal Rumble match."
