Ronda Rousey Not As Close To Signing With WWE?
Last week, a report by Sports Illustrated came out that former UFC Champion Ronda Rousey was finalizing details to sign with the WWE. Rousey has previously made appearances at WrestleMania 31 (with The Rock), the Mae Young Classic, and in November, at an NXT live event to meet with fans. Along with the other Four Horsewomen members, Rousey has been training in the ring (at times at the WWE Performance Center), which was shown in a December 1 video that was previewing her personal website.

According to TMZ Sports, they have spoken with "independent sources" on both sides and they have said she has yet to sign anything with the WWE. TMZ Sports continued that one source put it, "[Ronda's team] hasn't begun any negotiations with the WWE." While this doesn't mean they won't talk in the future, it may not be considered as close to being done as originally thought.
This report also comes on the heels of Triple H talking with CBS Sports' In This Corner Podcast where he dialed back the "imminent signing" report by SI.
"It's funny because every now and then I wake up and I look at either social media or the news and I see a report and it's like, well, that's news to me because I'm the one who would be having that conversation," Triple H said. "So it's interesting with 'sources say.'"
Triple H continued that he's made it very clear the opportunity is there if and when Rousey is ready to take it.
"Everybody is very busy and I know that from Ronda's side and her team, they are looking for an opportunity," Triple H said. "I have made it very clear that an opportunity exists and it's just a matter of us getting together and having conversations.
