WWE 205 Live Results (9/26): Lio Rush Vs. Noam Dar, Mustafa Ali And Hideo Itami In Brutal Main Event

Welcome to our live coverage of WWE 205 Live. We will be providing live ongoing coverage of tonight's show, while you all can chime in with your thoughts in the "Comments" section below.

Show opens with a recap of last week's show, where Cedric Alexander successfully defended his cruiserweight championship against Drew Gulak. 205 Live general manager Drake Maverick then appears to hype the Super Show-Down title bout between Cedric and Buddy Murphy, and says he'll be appearing to orchestrate a face-to-face meeting between both the champ and challenger tonight.

Maverick then highlights the matches for the evening, including Lio Rush against Noam Dar, and a rematch between Mustafa Ali and Hideo Itami.

Intro song.

Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, and Percy Watson welcome us to the show. Noam Dar makes his way to the ring, followed by Lio Rush.

Lio Rush vs. Noam Dar

Rush hits Dar right before the bell rings. Dar responds by penalty kicking Rush's legs out from under him. Dar snapmares Rush into the turnbuckles, then hits a back-body drop for the first pinfall attempt. Only two. Joseph and McGuinness remind us that this matchup was supposed to happen last week, but Rush has been avoiding Dar. Rush knocks Dar to the outside setting him up for an Asai moonsault.

Back in the ring Rush works over Dar with knife-edged chops and a big powerslam. Dar tries to mount a comeback but Rush keeps cutting him off, wearing him down with kicks to the gut.

Dar finally gains some momentum and lands a flush elbow to the head. He avoids a crossbody and Rush hits the ring ropes hard. Uppercut from Dar that sends Rush into the turnbuckle. Running elbow and Northern Lights suplex by Dar. Another cover but again a two count. Dar goes to the corner to set up his finisher but Rush attempts a kick, Dar catches him a submission!

Rush escapes but then gets suplexed into the turnbuckles.

Dar again attempts his finisher but Rush rolls out of the way. Dar starts pounding down Rush in the corner, but gets pulled back by the referee. Rush surprises Dar with a kick to the leg. Spin kick! Frog splash from Rush and that's it.

Lio Rush defeats Noam Dar by pinfall.

Drake Maverick is backstage with Cedric Alexander and Buddy Murphy. He calls their first matchup a few months ago an instant classic. He ask Cedric his thoughts. Cedric says he only has one thought: "To win." He says he takes pride in carrying the championship, and representing the promotion.

Buddy says Cedric got lucky last time. He's had every advantage as a champion, and in his hometown of Melbourne Australia, he'll become the next cruiserweight champion.

Ad break hyping Super Show-Down. (Undertaker vs. Triple H in particular.)

Brian Kendrick is out next, along with Drew Gulak and Jack Gallagher. His unknown opponent is already in the ring.

Brian Kendrick versus Unknown

Running kick by Kendrick. He locks in the Captain's Hook submission and the mystery man taps.

Brian Kendrick wins by submission

McGuinness says that victory could be a record. Post match Gulak attacks the unknown talent, hitting him with a German suplex. Kendrick then throws him out the ring and he, Gulak, and Gallagher pose in the ring.

Backstage we see Mustafa Ali. He says that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. He knows that everytime he's faced Itami he's come up short, but tonight it will be different. Their matchup is next.

Ad break for tonight's NXT. (Coming up next on the WWE Network. Only 9.99 a month.)

TJP is backstage wearing Lince Dorado's mask. He says he used to wrestle in a mask, and removing Dorado's mask was not at all insulting. He then calls out Kalisto for next week's 205 Live. Percy Watson confirms the match. McGuinness then adds on another matchup: Akira Tozawa against Jack Gallagher.

MAIN EVENT TIME! Mustafa Ali comes out first. Hideo Itami second.

Mustafa Ali versus Hideo Itami

Itami hides in the ropes and slides out of the ring everytime Ali gets close. Ali runs to chase him and pulls him out of the ring. Ali lands the first strike with a big chop to the chest. Another one and both men get back in the ring. Ali shows off his athleticism and hits a pop-up dropkick, followed by a frankensteiner. Big spinning heel kick from Ali and he's in full control.

Itami surprises Ali by pulling out his legs and whipping him into the ring post. Ali's head hits hard. Stiff kicks from Itami into Ali's chest. Itami works Ali over, targeting the mid-section and thwarting any comeback attempts.

Back on his feet, Ali connects with a few strikes, but Itami responds with a spin kick and a massive DDT. Cover but only a two count. Boston crab from Itami right in the center of the ring. It's in deep. Itami transition into a half-crab and Ali is in trouble.

Ali tries to crawl to grab the ropes but Itami kicks him in the head and pulls him back to the center. Eventually, he makes it to break the hold.

Itami throws Ali to the outside. He then throws him into the bell keeper area. More kicks to the chest and the referee threatens to stop the match. Suplex from Itami. Itami gets back in the ring looking for a countout victory, but Ali just beats the count.

Back in the ring Ali makes his comeback hitting a kick and his signature roll through facebuster. Sit-out powerbomb by Ali! Cover but only two! Ali drops Itami outside the ring. Tope Con Hilo from Ali!!! (Crowd starts chanting 205!)

Ali throws Itami into the ring and climbs for the 054, but Itami rolls to the outside again. Ali tries a crossbody from the ring steps but Itami catches with a kick to the head! Itami rolls Ali in and goes for a turnbuckle dropkick but Ali dodges! Jumping tornado DDT from Ali onto Itami. He goes up again for the 054 but Itami blocks it. Itami climbs and hits a falcon arrow from the top rope! Only a two count!

Itami puts Ali back on the top rope for another falcon arrow, but Ali pushes him off and immediately lands a splash! He pulls Itami to the corner and again climbs for his 054 finisher but again Itami slides to the outside. Before he can get all the way out...ALI LANDS A 450 SPLASH ONTO ITAMI ON THE APRON. Referee counts...double countout.

The match ends in a no-decision double countout.

Both men are down. Drake Maverick runs down to ringside to check on the competitors. They're both selling that they're hurt badly.
