Max Holloway Will Defend UFC Featherweight Title Against Frankie Edgar At UFC 240

After coming up short in his quest to claim the interim UFC lightweight title, featherweight champion Max Holloway will return to the Octagon at UFC 240 to defend his title against Frankie Edgar. The event takes place July 27 from Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Holloway attempted to become a dual-division champion earlier this year when he met Dustin Poirier for the interim title at 155 pounds. Holloway, though, suffered a decision loss, seeing his 13-fight win streak get snapped in the process.

Edgar was scheduled to face Holloway on two different instances at UFC 218 in December 2017 and against at UFC 222 in March of 2018. The first time, Edgar suffered an injury, with Holloway bowing out the latter.

The bout was first reported by ESPN.
