WWE NXT Sees Big Increase In Key Demo From Last Week For Great American Bash

Tuesday's live Great American Bash edition of WWE NXT drew 654,000 viewers on the USA Network, according to Nielsen via Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.

This is up 2.8% from last week's episode, which drew 636,000 viewers. Last week's show was the least-watched episode since the show moved to Tuesdays.

Tuesday's NXT special drew a 0.18 rating in the key 18-49 demographic. This is up 38.5% from last week's 0.13 rating in the key demo. This 0.18 rating represents 232,000 viewers in the 18-49 demo.

NXT faced strong competition from the NBA Finals on Tuesday night. The Milwaukee Bucks vs. Phoenix Suns game averaged 8.56 million viewers, which was up 13% from last year's Game 1, according to ESPN. Despite the stiff competition, this week's NXT viewership was up 2.8% from last week, while the 18-49 key demographic rating was up 38.5% from last week.

This week's NXT viewership was down 13.8% from the episode that aired one year ago, while the 18-49 key demo rating was down 10% from the show that aired one year ago. The 2020 episode went head-to-head with AEW in the Wednesday night timeslot.

The Great American Bash featured several matches and segments advertised ahead of time, including the Johnny Gargano – NXT Champion Karrion Kross face-off, Cameron Grimes vs. Million Dollar Champion LA Knight, Hit Row's Championship Cypher, Io Shirai and Zoey Stark defeating The Way for the NXT Women's Tag Team Titles, Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa vs. NXT Tag Team Champions MSK, plus Adam Cole vs. Kyle O'Reilly in the main event.
