AEW Dynamite Garners Lowest Wednesday Audience And Key Demo Rating Since July

Wednesday's live AEW Dynamite episode drew 878,000 viewers on TNT, according to Showbuzz Daily.

This is down 6.69% from last week's episode, which drew 941,000 viewers.

Dynamite drew a 0.33 rating in the key 18-49 demographic this week. This is down 17.5% from last week's 0.40 rating. The 0.33 key demographic rating represents 424,000 viewers who watched the show from that 18-49 demo. This is down 18.14% from last week's 518,000 18-49 viewers that the 0.40 key demo rating represented, according to Wrestlenomics.

Dynamite ranked #6 on the Cable Top 150 this week with the 0.33 rating in the 18-49 key demographic. This is down from last week's #4 ranking.

Dynamite ranked #34 in viewership for the night on cable. This is equal with last week's #34 ranking.

This week's Dynamite drew the lowest viewership and key demo rating for a Wednesday episode since July 7. The only sports competition this week was from the NBA, and that was average. Last night's viewership was down 6.69% from last week, while the 18-49 key demo rating was down 20% from last week.

Last night's Dynamite viewership was up 22.45% from the same week in 2020. The key demo rating was up 6.66% from the same week last year. The 2020 episode went head-to-head with WWE NXT.

The NBA game between the Hornets and the Warriors on ESPN topped the night in the 18-49 demographic on the Cable Top 150 with a 0.63 rating, drawing just 1.757 million viewers. Tucker Carlson Tonight on FOX News topped the night in viewership on cable with 3.918 million viewers, ranking #3 on the Cable Top 150 with a 0.39 key demo rating.

Chicago Fire on NBC topped the night on network TV in viewership with an average of 7.002 million viewers, with a 0.78 key demo rating. Survivor on CBS took the #1 spot in the 18-49 demographic with a 0.97 rating, also drawing 5.471 million viewers.

Wednesday's Dynamite aired live from the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, Missouri, and featured several matches and segments advertised ahead of time – Jamie Hayter vs. Anna Jay in a match for the AEW TBS Title Tournament, Samuray del Sol (fka Kalisto) and Aerostar vs. AAA World Tag Team Champions FTR, Andrade El Idolo vs. Cody Rhodes, AEW World Champion Kenny Omega vs. Alan Angels in a non-title match, and Orange Cassidy vs. an opponent to be named, which ended up being Miro, in a match for the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament, which ended up being the main event.
