Slow News Day Flashback Video: Hulk Hogan Legit Knocks Out TV Talk Show Host

With WWE getting a lot of mainstream press last week for Jon Stewart appearing on WWE RAW, and with it being a slow news day, I thought I'd post the video above featuring another talk show host getting involved with a top star 30 years ago heading into WrestleMania I. Except what happened was real.

Hulk Hogan and Mr. T appeared on Richard Belzer's cable TV talk show, Hot Properties, on March 27, 1985. The interview wasn't the most friendly, and it ended with Belzer asking Hogan to demonstrate a wrestling hold. Despite Mr. T's objections, Hogan put Belzer in a front chin-lock, knocking Belzer out. Belzer hit his head on the floor and started bleeding from the back of the head. Belzer was hospitalized and later sued WWE, Hogan and Mr. T for the incident. While the matter was settled out of court, Belzer stated on radio appearances that he received a $400,000 settlement.
