Chael Sonnen Talks Similarities Between McMahons And Jarretts, GFW, Wrestling Vs. Entertainment

New Global Force Wrestling commentator Chael Sonnen was the subject of a video released by the promotion today where he compared the McMahon family to the Jarrett Family. Sonnen differentiated the two based on the presentation of their products over the past several decades.

"Two families have controlled wrestling throughout my lifetime, and even throughout my father's lifetime, and that's the McMahons and the Jarretts. Their visions are very close, but there's a difference in professional wrestling and a spectacle of entertainment," said Sonnen.

Sonnen also reiterated that he really wanted to join Global Force Wrestling, and being able to work in Las Vegas was a good selling point for that. Sonnen is currently serving a two-year suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission and is unable to compete in MMA. Sonnen retired following the suspension.

"I just wanted to be a part of it and knew where it was headed. Any time you can start at the top of the mountain, and that's where Las Vegas is, you're off to a good start," Sonnen said. Sonnen also fought in Las Vegas at least eight times throughout his MMA career.

Global Force Wrestling is kicking off with live events in June, followed by television tapings in both July and August. Several names such as the Young Bucks, Moose, Doc Gallows, Davey Boy Smith Jr, and more.
