Report: WWE HOFer Hulk Hogan's Death May Have Been Result Of Medical Malpractice

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan's death could have been the result of medical malpractice, a new report alleges. According to TMZ, the outlet to initially break the news of Hogan's death on July 24, sources connected to the death case claimed malpractice may have killed the star.

Law enforcement told TMZ, citing the Clearwater police report, that an occupational therapist was at Hogan's home when he stopped breathing. The therapist reportedly told the officers who responded to the 911 call that Hogan was the victim of medical malpractice. The therapist said during a recent operation the surgeon "severed" Hogan's phrenic nerve, a nerve in the neck that plays a crucial role in breathing. Hogan's wife, Sky Daily, confirmed to TMZ that Hogan's phrenic nerve was "compromised" during a recent surgery.

Hogan's death was initially reported to be from a heart attack, and a secret battle with chronic lymphocytic leukemia was also revealed. TMZ sources claimed that Hogan did not have a "chest-clenching" episode before his death, but he stopped breathing. The outlet was told that Daily called 911 when her husband's breathing ceased. According to the outlet, conversations between officers about what the therapist said were recorded on body camera video, and the initial conversation between the occupational therapist and responding officers could be on body cam as well.

Hogan's estranged daughter, Brooke, has been adamant that an autopsy be conducted on her father's body, as she claims Clearwater officials are reaching out to her, at risk of losing their jobs, about the nature of his death. Brooke claimed on Instagram on Thursday that officials are telling her she needs to see the body camera video.

Daily confirmed to TMZ that an autopsy has been completed, but wouldn't reveal the results. Hogan's body has yet to be cremated.
