MFT Beat Damian Priest & R-Truth, Win First Defense Of WWE Tag Titles On SmackDown

Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga are still the WWE Tag Team Champions after defeating the former champs, Damian Priest and R-Truth on "WWE SmackDown." It was the first title defense for the MFTs after winning the gold last week in a triple threat involving the War Raiders.

Tama and Talla immediately went after the former champions to kick off the match, but it was Tama and Priest to start off the bout officially, with Priest isolating his opponent in their corner before tagging in Truth. Priest and Truth sent Talla over the ropes on one side of the ring, then Tama on the other. Priest signaled for Truth to fly over the ropes, and Truth took out Tama, sending them both crashing to the floor.

Truth was sent throat-first onto the top rope by Tama, and the champions took back control of the match. Priest attempted to rally and went to the top and downed Talla with a clothesline. He went for a chokeslam, but Talla tried to overpower him with one of his own. Priest fought out of it, but Talla took him down with a clothesline of his own and stomped on him in the corner.

Priest was able to make the tag to Truth, who hit the five-knuckle shuffle, then an Attitude Adjustment to Tama, but Talla broke up the pin. Priest sent Talla over the ropes once again, but Talla hit him with a T-Bomb to the apron.

Truth almost had Tama rolled up off the distraction. In the end, Tama and Talla hit the Red Cross to Truth to retain. Priest was noticeably unhappy with his partner after the match, but still helped him to his feet.
