Becky Lynch Recalls 'Good Old Days' Of WWE NXT Promo Class

Becky Lynch has come a long way since her "WWE NXT" run, with a revamped character and plenty of accolades to her name on the main roster. "The Man" recently looked back at her NXT days while appearing on "The Rich Eisen Show," recalling specifically how enjoyable one aspect was at the time.

"Promo class back then was incredible; it was a variety show!" she said. "It was like a talent show, just: 'What can you do? Bring it up! Try out a character.' None of these characters were going to make it to TV, but it was just throwing s**t at the wall and seeing what stuck."

She added that the experience was a lesson in creativity to her and provided wrestlers with a way to learn how to not be afraid of looking stupid in front of an audience. "I remember when I was younger, I told Paul Heyman this: that there was a line in the 'Rise and Fall of ECW' [documentary] that always stuck out to me. He said: 'Because if you're not afraid to fail, then my God, the possibilities are endless.' And this was like a microcosm of that, at promo class!"

Lynch claimed that these "NXT" promo classes were where the likes of LA Knight, Enzo Amore, Big Cass, Sasha Banks, and Bayley all developed their personas before getting onto television and nailing it. "There was these people that had their act together, and then there was the rest of us that were just trying to figure it out, and it was just awesome," she recalled. "God, them was the good old days."
