WWE's Je'Von Evans Recalls Pre-F5 Nerves: 'Brock Just Throws You'
This past January in the Men's Royal Rumble, Je'Von Evans had the opportunity to be in the same ring as Brock Lesnar, and when "The Beast" entered the match at number 22, he delivered the F-5 to the young star. The Royal Rumble was likely the one and only time Evans will take the F-5 with Lesnar retiring from professional wrestling this past August, but during a recent interview on "Cheap Heat," "The Young OG" explained that the finishing move was easier to take than he expected.
"I think I was confident but at the same time I was nervous too because I just never took the F-5 before. But I was like yo, I seen him do this move so many times growing up like, I got it," he stated. "It's pretty clean. He gets you up there and you're done. Yeah, just float."
Unlike the F-5, Lesnar's suplex was much more difficult to endure according to Evans, explaining that overhearing a conversation backstage on how to take the move properly is what saved him from getting seriously hurt.
"I remember somebody was talking about it before the show, they was like 'Hey if Brock comes in the ring, he gives you a suplex, he's going to toss you. Do not jump' ... Just let him throw you." he shared. "He comes in, starts suplexing everybody. I see him. I'm like, let's see if I can do something. Right when I try to swing, he snatches behind me. I'm like, 'Oh no, suplex.' I'm like, 'I'm not jumping.' But I'm telling you, if I would have jumped, I probably would have died."
Last month, Evans named Lesnar one of the strongest professional wrestlers he's ever been in the ring with, but also admitted that his "WWE NXT" rival Oba Femi is just as powerful.
