Ethan Page Says He Has 'The Smallest Ego' In WWE
With a name like "All Ego" Ethan Page, the former NXT Champion seemingly acknowledges just how big his ego is in the wrestling world. But ironically, Page believes that — compared to the rest of the WWE roster — his ego is smaller than anyone else's.
"I have the smallest ego in all the WWE," he boldly proclaimed during an interview with "TMZ's Inside The Ring." "I'm just the only one who wears it on my sleeve."
Page further claimed that everyone else in WWE is a liar, so naturally nobody else would corroborate his small ego proclamation. Page then suggested that everyone in WWE is only in it for the money, and willingly manipulate fans to get their money.
"If I want to be the most loved guy in WWE, you give me three weeks, and I'll figure it out; it's manipulation!" he exclaimed.
Page also lamented that people are softer today, pointing out how wrestlers get upset when they're criticized, and slammed them for only responding to detractors and never to their fans.
"No one wants to hear the truth, know the truth, understand the truth," he claimed. "Deep down, we all know the truth, but no one wants to live in that."
Page expressed that people seem to come together and ignore obvious truths, and in wrestling specifically, no one wants the kind of authenticity he provides.
"I'm not here to sell t-shirts. I'm here for my childhood fantasy of becoming the Intercontinental Champion," he claimed, adding that he also aspires to win both main event titles, King of the Ring, and the Royal Rumble. "That's why I'm here. Everyone else is here for [money], and to get [their faces] put on billboards. It's a very vain and ego-driven — ironically — and money-driven [industry] ... Everyone here's a liar, but me."
