AEW's Kevin Knight Explains Why He Wasn't Hurt By TNT Title Loss

Kevin Knight enjoyed a 140 day run with the AEW TNT Championship, originally capturing the belt after emerging victorious in the Casino Gauntlet Match at AEW: Dynasty. Knight would subsequently lose the belt to Darby Allin at the recent AEW All In: London pay-per-view, making Allin a third-time champion.

Despite what should be seen as a setback, Knight doesn't believe losing the belt has hurt his momentum in any way, which he detailed during an interview on the "Battleground Podcast." Knight pointed out that Allin had to pull out all the stops to put him down, noting how Sting and his son Steven Borden had to get involved to end his reign. 

"I think his efforts to take the belt off of me just shows how great of a champion that I was," he boasted, "how dominant of a champion that I am, and how much of a threat that I am to the AEW locker room."

Knight then briefly praised Allin, acknowledging how much of a threat he is in his own right, describing him as one of the "old pillars" of AEW. "

The fact that he had to go to those measures, it just lets me know, and it just lets the rest of the locker room know that, hey, I'm nothing to play with," he pointed out. "A championship doesn't define me. It never has and never will, but I think it put the rest of the locker room on notice of just how powerful I am."

When asked about how he felt about Sting and Steven getting involved in his match, Knight admits he was annoyed by their involvement, pointing out how big his entrance was and all the effort he put into the match. 

"Very disappointing," he exclaimed. "But, this isn't the end of the road. It's not the end of the story between me and Darby."
