Nick Khan Addresses Social Media Complaints, Says WWE Has The Best Booker In Triple H
Over the past year, WWE's partnerships with TKO Holdings and Netflix has generated an abundance of social media criticism from fans. The continuous uptick of ticket prices, sponsorships being littered over the ring mat, and the creative direction of some of its biggest stars have been some of the main complaints directed at WWE, but according to company President Nick Khan, choosing not to strongly react to online grievances has been the key to success.
Speaking with "The Varsity," Khan explained that WWE listens to some fan critiques, but overall doesn't make decisions on the negative comments about its product, especially on social media.
"Those complaints, some of them we look at and we say, hey, there's some truth to this. Let's make a little adjustment here, this or that. But you cannot cater. You've seen this in politics. If you believe what social media says, you will incorrectly predict so many outcomes," Khan argued." So for companies that read it and believe it and react to it, it never ever works ... You have to rely on your team to know we have the best creative in terms of all of wrestling in Triple H. Real name Paul Levesque. We have the best live events team in my opinion. We have the best merchandise consumer products team ... It's not easy, but it's not supposed to be easy. So you got to continue to develop and redevelop what you do."
Despite the criticism, Khan has been proud of the growth of WWE and other companies under the TKO umbrella such as On Location, IMG, PBR, and reiterated that it's important to work with a team that can make the right decisions, especially when it comes to navigating audience feedback.
