Sami Zayn Recreates Iconic CM Punk Photo With WWE Championship In The Refrigerator
It took a few months and some help from Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae, but Sami Zayn regained the Undisputed WWE Championship for a second time last Friday on "SmackDown," finally defeating his rival CM Punk. And how did Zayn decide to celebrate the huge victory? None other than twisting the knife into Punk a little bit more. Taking to X on Tuesday afternoon, Zayn posted a photo of the Undisputed WWE Title belt on the third shelf in his refrigerator, right in front of a case of Silk Protein Milk.

Long time fans will recognize Zayn is referencing Punk after the long-time wrestling veteran defeated John Cena to win the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank 2011, immediately returning home and putting the championship in his fridge. Punk himself would re-create the photo just two months ago, putting the Undisputed Title in his fridge after defeating Zayn on "WWE Raw."
It's good news for Zayn all around, and it appears he is poised to avoid having only a week long championship reign like the one he had earlier in the summer. Instead, Zayn is reportedly scheduled to hold the championship until at least WWE Crown Jewel in November, where he's expected to wrestle WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns for the annual Crown Jewel Championship. That will present Zayn with another chance to right a wrong, as it has now been a little more than three years since Zayn and Reigns last wrestled at Elimination Chamber 2023 in Zayn's hometown of Montreal, Canada, where Reigns defeated Zayn to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
