Kevin Nash Says He Hated Wrestling This WWE HOFer Despite Liking Him As A Person

Kevin Nash made the jump from WCW to WWE in 1993, which gave him an opportunity to work with a new roster, including some big stars from the past. However, speaking on his podcast "Kliq This," Nash noted that there was one former world champion who he did not mesh well with.

"I had a really hard time with [Bob] Backlund," Nash said. "We were just so different — different eras, different styles, different everything. ... I didn't hate working with him, but — you know what? I'm lying. I did [hate working with him]. I didn't hate him, I hated working with him, though. I'd be lying to say I didn't f***ing really not look forward to that."

Between 1993 and 1995, Nash and Backlund worked together a fair amount at live events, and Nash even won the world title from Backlund at a Madison Square Garden house show in a matter of seconds. However, they rarely shared a ring on shows that were broadcast, with the main exceptions being the 1994 and 1996 editions of the Royal Rumble.

Backlund wrestled a long career that lasted from the early 1970s into the 2000s. Including the three-day title reign that Nash ended, Backlund was a two-time world champion, along with having held the company's tag team title and various NWA championships.

As part of the same conversation on his podcast, Nash was asked to name a wrestler that he never got to work with but always wanted to. It took a while for Nash to think of a name, but he eventually said he wished he got to work with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper while he was still in his prime.
