Former AEW Women's World Champion Admits It's Frustrating Not Getting TV Time

Having wrestling promotions on TV has many pros, but the biggest con is that time is limited for a roster full of professional wrestlers. Creative often dictates who will be featured on a given card and who gets left off. 

Former AEW Women's World Champion Nyla Rose has been with the company from the beginning. She is someone that new champions would have one of their first titles against. "The Native Beast" has been active on the indies, competing for promotions like Eve, Marvelous, and Marigold. She is one half of the AAAW Tag Team Champions alongside Nightshade. Unfortunately, she hasn't been on television since November 2024. She teamed with Harley Cameron against Mariah May and Mina Shirakawa on "Rampage".

That same year, AEW received a warning from the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission (OSAC) because they claimed the company violated a 2021 law against transgender athletes competing against cisgender athletes. Rose recently spoke about the OSAC and Tony Khan's support of her.

During an interview with Denise Salcedo, Rose commented on not wrestling on TV. "It is a little hard, it is a little frustrating. You know in this business, you do have to be a little bit selfish to a degree, right? You can be selfish while being selfless. And this I think is one of those moments. I want more for myself. I want to do more. I want to entertain you guys more in a multitude of ways. So it is frustrating when things like that happen."

Rose said there are a lot of great things happening like Mercedes Moné winning the women's title, feuding with Thekla, and the journey of Willow Nightingale. "We can sit back and enjoy this, but dammit, when is it my turn?," she lamented.
