Rey Mysterio Reflects On Working With Former WWE Rival And Tag Team Partner Batista

The history between Rey Mysterio and Batista both pit the two men against each other and saw them as partners. Many fans remember the night Batista turned heel on Mysterio, yelling "you were supposed to be my friend" over and over while beating his former tag team partner within an inch of his life. In an interview with "MuscleManMalcolm," Mysterio was asked about working with Batista.

"As much as I enjoyed working by his side and I enjoyed working against him as well," he said. "These were the type of matches that I can swing, hit, and go as hard as I can without hurting him." Mysterio noted that because of how solid Batista was, he knew he'd never really be able to hurt him, so he could lay in shots as hard as he wanted to.

Mysterio also proclaimed that he enjoys working a "snug style" of wrestling where impacts are realistic without actually being painful. He then recalled the moment Batista attacked him during their feud, claiming it's still vivid in his memory. "With him choking me right by the apron, and I'm telling him: 'You're hurting me, Dave!' 'You were supposed to be my friend!' and just chucks me against the barricade! Fun, fun moments man, really fun moments," he expressed.

Today, Batista has fully transitioned into an acting career, notably shedding a lot of his muscle while becoming more and more artistic in his presentation. Mysterio also commented on Batista's acting pursuits, noting that it's been very fun to see him follow his dreams and not give up until he made it.
