WWE HOFer Calls FKA Zelina Vega On 9/11 Every Year

September 11, 2001 and the terrorist attacks in New York City, as well as on the Pentagon and onboard Flight 93, had a forever-lasting impact on American history, but an even bigger, more profound impact on the families of those who died in the attacks. One of those families was that of former WWE star Zelina Vega, now known as Xelina. Xelina's father, Michael Trinidad, died in the collapse of the World Trade Center, something the star has been very open about over the years.

WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley revealed on his YouTube channel, in a video discussing what happened on the first live edition of "WWE SmackDown" following the tragic day, that every year on the anniversary of 9/11, he makes it a point to call Xelina.

"When I found out that her father had passed away in September 11th, I made in a duty from that point on... to give her a call and let her know that I was thinking about her and her family and that my prayers and thoughts go out to them," Dudley said. "I'm feeling it now, because I can't imagine what she went through. She was a baby. Now I got three little ones, to know that they will never see their father again. The man that provided, that took care of them, that was their rock, is no longer here, because of some radical idiots out there that decided to do what they did, that broke my heart."

Xelina said in 2023, the 22nd anniversary of her dad's passing, that it doesn't get any easier as the years pass. The star posts tributes to him every year on her own social media.
