TNA's Nic Nemeth: Leon Slater Will Be 'Running Pro Wrestling' For The Next 20 Years

TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth thinks highly of Leon Slater and believes that he will rule the roost for the next two decades in the pro wrestling industry.

Nemeth is set to face Slater soon in TNA, and has noticed the potential that he has, as he lavished praise on him and his talent in an interview with Adrian Hernandez. Nemeth said that Slater has great ring intelligence and athleticism, which should hold him in good stead in the future. 

"I can't say anything negative about him, and in the next few weeks, I'm going to because I have to, and I'm a bad guy, and that's pro wrestling. But I'm going on two-and-a-half years of singing his praises. He's smarter than he should be. His ring IQ shouldn't be as high as it is right now, and it's already high. Plus, the athleticism and the things that he can do that no one else can, [and] he's another one of those guys that he's nice and humble too backstage. So it kind of makes me sick," he said. "We get it. You're nice and a good guy. Oh, cool. And you're charismatic, and you're going to be running pro wrestling for the next 20 years. Blah, blah, blah. Nobody cares here [laughs]."

While Nemeth has acknowledged the talent that Slater has and sees him as a future world champion, he vowed to not let him beat him to the title. He feels that Slater's niceness could get in the way of him doing everything in his power to become a world champion, while also noting how his experience and ring IQ will let him get the better of Slater.

Slater and Nemeth will go one-on-one at Bound for Glory for the latter's world title, an opportunity that the former earned after vacating his X-Division Championship and choosing to exercise Option C, thereby earning his first shot at the TNA World Championship.
