Roman Reigns Singles Out Longtime WWE Rival Cody Rhodes For High Praise

Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes' two-part WWE WrestleMania main event feud cemented their rivalry and The Bloodline arc as one of the most defining storylines of the modern era. Even after their blockbuster WrestleMania 40 clash, both men have consistently remained in the main event and currently hold the top two titles in the company.

During a recent interview with "Complex," Reigns unpacked what it means to be the face of the company, specifically singling Rhodes out as someone who's proven his worth as a leader. "There's only been one who's been able to carry that banner," Reigns admitted. "And that's been Cody."

Prior to that, the "Original Tribal Chief" emphasized the demands of being the face of WWE, explaining that it requires consistent performance and delivery, regardless of whether you're tired, sick, or hungover after WrestleMania. "This is a billion-dollar machine," he stated. "It's not easy."

Looking back at the names that preceded him, the OTC highlighted his cousin, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and his rapid rise to the top, clarifying that his career was an exception instead of the blueprint every aspiring main eventer should follow. "Dwayne is the anomaly. He is the outlier. Nobody's ever gonna do it like The Rock," Reigns expressed. On the other hand, he believes that the likes of him and Cena are examples of how it could take an entire decade to establish a new face of the company.
