Netflix Reportedly 'Enthusiastic And Impressed' With WWE Raw Numbers From Mexico City
WWE's trip to Mexico seems to have been a great success, judging by the rave reviews that both "Raw" and "SmackDown" have received, and it seems that even Netflix was pleased with it.
Netflix, which broadcasts "Raw," was pleased with the numbers delivered by the Mexico edition of the show, as per "Wrestlevotes on Fightful Select." According to Netflix's data, the show drew 3.1 million viewers over the course of a week, its highest figure in several weeks. The outlet claimed that Netflix wants high-profile names and marquee matches for future "Raw" events to capitalize on the momentum generated by the Mexico show. WWE, too, was reportedly very happy with the viewership the show drew, particularly with Monday Night Football returning.
The big winner coming out of the September 14 "Raw" from Mexico was hometown hero Penta, who was in the main event of the show. Penta went one-on-one with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and ran him close.
It seems that the reaction that the crowd gave Penta has resulted in calls for a rematch between the two from those behind the scenes, and he is a favorite to win the men's Money in the Bank ladder match. The match with Reigns has also cemented him as a big star in WWE, something that WWE's Nattie also stated.
