Latest Update On WWE's Broadcast Plans For Worlds Collide

This Saturday is WWE's joint event with AAA, Worlds Collide, featuring CM Punk, Penta, and Dragon Lee. The show is emanating from the Allstate Arena, just 20 minutes away from AEW All Out in the NOW Arena. Earlier this week, it was reported that Worlds Collide would not air live. A report from Andrew Baydala emerged claiming that Worlds Collide will air live on YouTube, but with no official details announced, that does not appear to be the case. 

However, more information is beginning to trickle out regarding Worlds Collide. On "Something to Wrestle", JBL said that he was originally asked to come to Chicago a few weeks ago, but has since been told they'll record voiceovers at a later date. The AAA announcers will also not be in Chicago.

In Wresting Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer said that the show was originally supposed to be broadcast live, with AAA heavily promoting the show. He is unsure why the show is no longer airing live. "There has been speculation within the company of it being released as a special to Club WWE members, but nobody has said that as a definite, nor has anyone given a reason why the change. Obviously, since the entire reason for the show was to hurt AEW's PPV and live gate, I don't know why things changed," he wrote.

AEW All Out sold out more than a week in advance without the full card being announced. Meltzer pointed out that moving Worlds Collide to YouTube won't hurt AEW at all since WWE has done this strategy multiple times and there doesn't appear to be any effect.
