WWE Officials Reportedly Have 'Mixed Feelings' On Sami Zayn As Champion

Sami Zayn shocked the WWE Universe when he won the Undisputed WWE Championship for the second time this year. On the September 11 episode of "SmackDown", Zayn defeated CM Punk due to a lot of outside interference. The reason for the surprise title change is because Zayn will reportedly headline Crown Jewel in Riyadh against World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns for the Crown Jewel Championship.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the reaction to Zayn being the champion again doesn't have total support from WWE officials. "The reality is there are mixed feelings and we were told those at TKO do not care about small things like who is the champion right now and they are into the bigger deals. So they would have no opinion either positive or negative and nobody from there has said anything regarding this now two week title run because that isn't what they deal with or are concerned about," he wrote.

Zayn retained the title over longtime rival and former best friend, Kevin Owens with plenty of distraction in his first title defense of his second reign. In June, Zayn defeated GUNTHER and Cody Rhodes for the title at Night of Champions in Riyadh. He held the title for just nine days when he was defeated by Punk.
