IYO SKY Names WWE Hall Of Famer As Her Favorite Wrestler

IYO SKY's high flying ability has been at the forefront of her presentation, winning multiple titles in WWE since signing with the promotion. Like many current-day wrestlers, IYO SKY grew up watching WWE, and has a favorite wrestler.

During an interview with "Ringer Wrestling," IYO SKY was reminded that Michael Cole has often called her the "Best Wrestler on the Planet," and asked whether or not she agrees with the statement. 

"Yeah, I really hope so. I'm doing my best, but I cannot say I am the best," she admitted. IYO accepts the compliment when she receives it, but has a different answer. "[For] my entire life, my favorite wrestler is Rey Mysterio. He's my idol forever." 

At 51, Rey Mysterio is one of the older active pro wrestlers in the industry today, but many have noted how he continues to put on quality matches despite his age. IYO SKY was then asked if she thinks she'll be able to follow in her idol's footsteps when it comes to the longevity of his career. 

"50? 50 years old? Yeah, I hope, but my answer is no," she said. "My style is very different. I cannot imagine [me] putting my trash can on my head and [jumping] from the the edge at 50 years old."

Considering that she's a high flyer and has her Over the Moonsault finisher, she's been compared to Mysterio before. However, when Kevin Nash heard this comparison last year, he dismissed it and proclaimed that the legendary Luchadore is a one-in-a-billion talent instead, and while he has no issues with IYO SKY as a person, he'd rather see someone like Sol Ruca compete.
