Update On Seth Rollins' WWE Contract Status, ESPN Appearances
While he performed on WWE's recent tour of live events in South America where videos of his dancing antics alongside Solo Sikoa and LA Knight went viral, former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins hasn't been seen on WWE TV since WWE SummerSlam, when he lost to rival and former Shield stablemate Roman Reigns. The star, who remains busy with a blossoming career as an NFL analyst, spoke about his WWE contract in a recent interview with the Sports Business Journal.
"The Visionary" revealed he has three years left on his WWE deal. Rollins will be 43 years old when the contract is up, but the star didn't put a timeline on a potential retirement.
"I want to be with WWE as long as I can continue to contribute and feel I'm helping the product, as opposed to taking up space that could be better utilized for younger talent," he told the outlet.
SBJ revealed that Rollins is also under contract with ESPN, a media partner of WWE in the states. That deal includes a set number of appearances on shows like "Good Morning Football," where Rollins has become a staple, ESPN's flagship "SportsCenter," and more. Rollins told the outlet that he "will not say" he's stopping wrestling to do sports media, and he's happy he gets to do both at the moment. Things may be different in three years, however.
"I want to continue at this game in WWE while also continuing to field offers [in sports media] and see where that goes," he explained. "Once we get closer to the next contract with WWE, it'll be like, 'OK, what does this look like? Is there any interest from an ESPN for a bigger role or something that's more substantial, something that can provide for me after pro wrestling?'"
