If there's one thought that lives rent-free in Bully Ray's mind, it's what Randy Orton said recently about his current rival, Cody Rhodes. During his sit-down interview with Michael Cole on the September 25 edition of "WWE SmackDown," Orton claimed that Rhodes tends to "compromise" himself, his character, and his outlook in order to keep the peace, even if that isn't what he really wants to do deep down. Although he, like many others, believe it's time for WWE to pull the trigger and turn Rhodes into a heel, it still seems too soon. And according to Ray, the universe may never line up for this moment to happen.

"It is not the right time for Cody Rhodes to turn heel. The reality is, it may never be the right time. Because the stars may never line up," the Hall of Famer said on "Busted Open Radio." "With Cody Rhodes, I have to have a great reason to boo him. The reason I have mentioned Cody and the word 'heel' in the same breath for as long as I have is because I have personally seen it in him. When I shared a locker room with Cody Rhodes in Ring of Honor is when I realized this guy has heel tendencies...In his day-to-day travels, interactions with people, I was like, 'That person has heel tendencies...'He wasn't a rude a**hole to anybody, but you can identify it. You can see it."

Although he stated the timing is not ripe yet, Ray argues that one day, all the things that have been said about Rhodes (regarding his father Dusty, his Stardust years, leaving WWE to build its rival in AEW, only to return to the company he once held frustration towards, etc.) will all come to a head, creating Rhodes' ultimate heel persona. Only time will tell if that will ever come to fruition during Rhodes' second run in the WWE.
