Dave Meltzer Believes AEW's Adam Copeland Has One Last Bucket List Venue Left
AEW star Adam Copeland has had a long and storied career, and throughout his time in wrestling, he has gotten the chance to wrestle in some of the most renowned venues in the world. But there is still one more that he is waiting to tick off his bucket list. On a recent edition of "Wrestling Observer Radio," Dave Meltzer not only revealed what venue that was, but also hinted at the idea that Copeland could feature on a major event in 2027.
"He still wants to do the Tokyo Dome, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was on this year's Tokyo Dome show because that's one of the places he wants to do. He got to do Arena Mexico this year," Meltzer said.
That Tokyo Dome show would of course be NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 21, which takes place on January 4, 2027. If Copeland were to wrestle on that show, he would join the esteemed group of wrestlers who have performed in the Tokyo Dome, Arena Mexico, Wembley Stadium, and Madison Square Garden.
Copeland did manage to tick one venue off of that list this past weekend when he headlined Maple Leaf Pro's Northern Rising pay-per-view in a Street Fight against Steve Maclin. The show took place at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Copeland's hometown of Toronto, which was built on the grounds of the old Maple Leaf Gardens, a place that Meltzer explained has a special meaning to the "Rated-R Superstar."
"Adam Copeland had a bunch of places before he retires that he wanted to wrestle in, and one of them would have been Maple Leaf Gardens which has shut down but the Mattamy Athletic Centre is the grounds of Maple Leaf Gardens. When he was young ... he went to wrestling regularly, he and Christian [Cage] at Maple Leaf Gardens. So going to wrestle at Maple Leaf Gardens was something he always wanted to do."
