On Friday, October 16, the live-action adaptation of the video game "Street Fighter" hits theatres and will star multiple blockbuster names, including former Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, who takes on the role of Guile. In the months leading up to the film, Rhodes hasn't been afraid to dress up as Guile during public appearances and promote the movie in unrelated interviews, which has caught the attention of former WWE star John Cena.

During a recent interview with Comic Book, Cena praised Rhodes for his ability to have the courage to bring his character to life by putting in the effort to appear as Guile outside of the ring.

"I champion Cody for his ability to lean into his part. People know Cody Rhodes, but maybe don't remember Guile from Street Fighter. Maybe for people it brings out nostalgia to see somebody dressed as Guile from Street Fighter. Hats off to Cody for being brave enough to take a moment that could be focused on him as a person, and he realizes that it's larger than that and the goal is to make sure that people enjoy the movie and know your character when they see it. I think it's a heck of an idea by him. Whether I was where he got it from or not, I'm very proud of him for his choice and I think it's a great decision for the movie."

This past weekend, Rhodes dressed as Guile at UFC 332 surrounded by fans who were wearing the custom popcorn bucket hat for his character. In addition to Rhodes, World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns will also be featured in Street Fighter playing the anti-villain, Akuma. Both WWE wrestlers will star alongside Callina Liang, Noah Centineo, Mel Jarnson, Vidyut Jammwal, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, and Jason Momoa.
